چکیده

Stereo vision is important m determining three-dimensional positions of tile visible surfaces in images. Most existing stereo matching methods involve matching low-level image features such as edges. A stereo matching technique based on matching high-level image features is described in this paper. The high-level image features extracted are topographic structures, arc segments and region segments. Matching results in stereo images are also discussed. Key wordw Stereo matching, feature extraction, edges, topographic structures, computer vision.

3-D Reconstruction of Image Structures Based-on Double Optical Paths Microscopy

This paper presents a method reconstructing 3-d image structures with data collected from double optical paths microscopy. A color image gathered is divided into two monochromatic images which respectively represent right and left vision data by color filter. Then the image structures are extracted by median filter and calculated with Sobel operator or Canny operator. Pixels between the right a...

A Survey on Stereo Matching Techniques

Tracing of corresponding phenomena (matching) is necessary in many applications, like image sequence analysis, aerotriangulation and 3-D geometric information extraction from stereo pairs of images. An important industrial application is robot stereo vision. In digital images the correspondence problem can be approached by signal, feature or relational matching. Common, at the moment, is the si...

Developmental Stereo: Topographic Iconic-Abstract Map from Top-Down Connection

Engineering approaches to stereo typically use explicit search for the best matching between left and right sub-windows, which involves a high cost of search and unstable performance in the presence of binocular inconsistency and weak texture. The brain does not seem to conduct explicit search in the V1 and V2 cortex. But the mechanisms that the brain employs to integrate binocular disparity in...

Perceptible Level Lines and Isoperimetric Ratio

This paper introduces a simple criterion to select the most important level lines from the numerous set obtained with a topographic map. A topographic map gives a morphological and a geometrical representation of the information contained in natural images. Most of level lines are perceptually negligible and may be removed without noticeable distortion. Such curves, which do not carry informati...

Integration of Orbital and Ground Images for Enhanced Topographic Mapping in Mars Landed Missions

To date, orbital and ground image data have been mostly separately processed for topographic mapping in Mars landed missions. We are in the process of developing a method for the integration of orbital and ground image networks to enhance precision mapping. In this research, HiRISE stereo images were used as orbital data while ground data include MER-B Pancam stereo images and their pointing in...
